On Sunday December 20th at the Malvern Town Hall, Peter Maniatis in
conjunction with Michael Yang the number one boxing promoter in China
will be promoting a WBC world title fight.
Not since the Jeff Fenech and Jeff Harding days have we seen a WBC
world title fight in Melbourne, also on the undercard will be top
Australian prospect Heath "The Heat" Ellis alongside Australian
super-bantamweight champion Mark Quon, The Contender Australia's
Pradeep Singh, the always entertaining Kane McKay and rising prospect
Steve Gillingham.
Undefeated WBC World female boxing champion Wang Ya Nan who has now
moved her base to Melbourne plans in order to do a Kostya Tszyu and
become a fighting resident of Australia will defend her WBC
middleweight world title against top contender Charity Mukami.
Wang would like to challenge Laila Ali the undefeated WBC Super
middleweight world champion and the famous daughter of Muhammed Ali to
a super fight early next year in Melbourne, that is if she can
successfully defend her title against Mukami on December 20th.
Back in China, Wang Ya Nan who is twenty-four years old is a big name
but is not well known yet in Australia,
"l think Wang is the future of World Female boxing and can move up in
weigh divisions to win more world title's hopefully for Australia",
Peter Maniatis said.
"I have seen Wang's fight on DVD and watched her spar men in training
and l believe she will be a superstar for female boxing in Australia l
am a lucky man to be her promoter", Maniatis continued
Wang's trainer- manager Michael Yang has trained two world champions
in China and believes Wang is the best talented boxer he has trained,
