Hopkins outscores Winky
Size and strength proved the difference as Bernard Hopkins outpointed
Winky Wright in their Las Vegas superfight yesterday.
But as predicted by many it was a lacklustre tactical battle
overshadowed by the Michael Katsidis-Czar Amonsot brawl on the undercard.
In a battle of former world champions, Hopkins (48-4-1, 32 KOs) won a
unanimous decision over the much shorter Wright (51-4-1, 25 KOs) in a
light heavyweight clash at the Mandalay Bay Events Centre.
Wright was cut over the left eye in round two by an unintentional
headbutt.
Wright took the fight to the biger man with Hopkins fightign a cagey
bout.
There was lots of holding and wrestling .
Wright was busier, but Hopkins hit harder and finished stronger to
win 116-112, 117-111, 117-111.
